Über Walter Ferguson

Walter Ferguson, known as Mr. Gavitt, was the patriarch of calypso limonense and the most recorded voice of Costa Rica's Caribbean coast. He spent most of his life in Cahuita writing witty, story-driven songs about love, work, and small-town life on the Limón coast, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar. He composed dozens of songs from the 1950s onward but only released studio albums in the 2000s, when producer Manuel Monestel arranged the sessions that became Babylon and Dr. Bombodee.
