A living legend of German rock, Lindenberg pioneered German-language rock in the 1970s and became a cultural icon. 'Sonderzug nach Pankow' was a direct musical provocation to East Germany's leadership. At age 77, his collaboration 'Komet' with Apache 207 became the longest-running number-one single in German chart history.
