Über Toofan

Toofan are the duo who gave Togo its biggest musical export. Master Just and Barabas built their records around named dances, and Gweta spread across francophone Africa and into the diaspora on video. They perform in Ewé, French and Mina and have kept the formula running for over a decade. The gweta dance has a shared history in Lomé's street scene rather than being their invention alone.
