Teoman is the poet of Turkish rock, a former literature student whose melancholic songs about Istanbul, love, and drinking defined the alternative scene from the late 1990s. Paramparça and İstanbul'da Sonbahar are among the most sung Turkish rock songs of the 2000s. His storytelling lyrics set him apart from the pop mainstream.
