The Mumbai composer trio — Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa — whose collaboration since 1996 shaped the sound of 2000s-era Hindi cinema. Scores for 'Dil Chahta Hai', 'Kal Ho Naa Ho', 'Rock On!!', 'Bunty Aur Babli' and 'Rang De Basanti' brought Western pop craft, genuine rock literacy and live instrumentation into Bollywood songwriting. 'Kajra Re' (2005) became one of the decade's most durable dance-floor records.
