Pink Lady

Über Pink Lady

Mie and Kei, two friends from a Shizuoka prefecture singing school, formed Pink Lady in 1976 and within a year had turned themselves into the largest popular-culture phenomenon Japan had ever produced. Their synchronised choreography, Naoko Kawai-styled costumes, and string of singles (UFO, Pepper Keibu, Wanted) outsold every other Japanese act of the late 1970s. They disbanded in 1981 at the absolute peak of their fame.
