Ngal Madunga

Über Ngal Madunga

Singer and songwriter who came to Equatoguinean pop from Congolese rumba, which gives his records a guitar and vocal arrangement closer to Kinshasa than to Malabo. His 2011 album Mundo Complicado carries the title track he cut with Papa Wemba, one of the few Equatoguinean recordings to feature a Central African star of that rank. The 2016 album Sipopo took its name from the resort strip outside Malabo and kept the rumba frame while singing about the country he was living in. He also appears on Negro Bey's Bong Be Guinea alongside Yolanda Eyama and Osisi Solo.
