Über Modern Dog
Modern Dog, formed in 1992 by Chulalongkorn University art students Thanachai Ujjin, May T. Nopachai, and Pavin Suthipathiyakul, kicked off Thailand's indie alternative scene. Their self-titled 1994 debut on Bakery Music sold more than 250,000 copies and made them the first Thai rock band to chart across Southeast Asia. Busaba and Ta Sawang have remained the band's signature songs for thirty years; their 2009 collaboration with the Tony Doogan-produced album Ting Nong Noy was the first Thai rock record to be reviewed by Pitchfork. They still tour intermittently.
