Luciano Pavarotti
1935–2007
Über Luciano Pavarotti
The most famous tenor of the modern era, Luciano Pavarotti brought opera to a mass audience without ever cheapening it. His ringing high notes and warm Modena charm made him a global star, and his 1990 performance of Nessun Dorma at the World Cup became one of the defining musical moments of the century. As one of the Three Tenors he filled stadiums, and his Pavarotti and Friends concerts paired him with rock and pop stars while raising money for humanitarian causes.
