Los Planetas are the most important Spanish indie rock band, formed in Granada in 1993. Their noisy, melancholic guitar pop and cryptic lyrics made them cult heroes and shaped an entire generation of Spanish indie. Later albums increasingly wove flamenco into their sound, reflecting their Andalusian roots. They are frequently cited as one of the finest bands in Spanish rock history.
