Los del Río are an Andalusian duo from Seville who spent decades as respected sevillanas and rumba performers before achieving global fame. Their 1993 song Macarena, remixed by the Bayside Boys, became one of the best-selling singles in history and a worldwide dance phenomenon. It topped the US Billboard Hot 100 for fourteen weeks and defined a moment in 1990s pop. They remain the most globally recognised Spanish act of their era.
