Locomotiv GT

Über Locomotiv GT

Locomotiv GT, almost always shortened to LGT, were the Hungarian supergroup: Gábor Presser on keys and songwriting, Tamás Somló on saxophone and bass, Tamás Barta and later Károly Frenreisz on guitar. Formed in 1971 out of the wreckage of Omega and Illés, they spent the 1970s building a Magyar-language fusion of rock, jazz, and pop that gave Budapest its own answer to Steely Dan. Their songbook ("Ringasd el magad", "Mindenki másképp csinálja", "Szentimentális rakenroll") still defines Hungarian middle-of-the-road rock, and the band's reunion shows continued into the 2010s.
