Über Koncz Zsuzsa
Koncz Zsuzsa is the central female voice of Hungarian-language pop, on stage and on record since 1962. Her collaborations with Illés songwriter János Bródy produced the canonical Magyar songbook of the 1960s and 70s: "Ha én rózsa volnék", "Valahol egy lány", "Jelbeszéd". Officially celebrated and intermittently censored across the socialist era, she stayed on the road through every regime change, and her annual concerts at the Sportcsarnok and Aréna remained one of the most reliable barometers of how a generation of Hungarians felt about itself.
