Jose Gonzalez is a Gothenburg singer and guitarist of Argentine descent whose hushed, fingerpicked songs found a global audience. His cover of The Knife's Heartbeats, used in a Sony advert, turned him into an international name. Working mostly with nylon-string guitar and close-miked vocals, he creates intimate music with a meditative pull. He records both solo and with the band Junip, and his quiet style has proved widely influential.
