Über Jimi Hope

Jimi Hope took his stage initials from Jimi Hendrix and spent a career earning the comparison as a guitarist. He first surfaced with the group Acide Rock and went on to be called the greatest African rocker, singing in Ewé, French and English. He was a painter and sculptor as well, and his murals are still on walls around Lomé. He died in Paris in 2019 at sixty-two.
