Ivo Robić was Croatia's first international star and the founding voice of zabavna glazba. His German-language single Morgen, recorded with Bert Kaempfert in 1959, topped charts in West Germany and reached the American Billboard top 20, decades before any other Yugoslav act crossed over. At home the crooner from Garešnica defined the early Zagreb and Opatija festival era and kept recording into the 1980s.
