Elom 20ce writes the most explicitly political rap Togo has produced, built on pan-Africanist argument rather than on hooks. He records in French with Ewé and English woven through, and calls his practice Arctivism, treating the music as one part of a wider body of work that includes film and writing. Vodoo Sakpata drew international coverage and put him in front of an audience beyond francophone Africa. He works independently and has stayed outside the commercial circuit.
