Duman became a defining band of Turkey's alternative-rock boom with a sound shaped by grunge, blues, and Turkish melodic phrasing. Kaan Tangöze's weathered vocals and the group's direct guitar writing built a large national following. Their return with new material in the 2020s confirmed the durability of that sound.
