Über Desperadoes Steel Orchestra
The steel orchestra from Laventille in Port of Spain, founded in the 1940s and the most successful side in Panorama history with more than a dozen titles. Their arrangements, long associated with Beverley Griffith and Clive Bradley, are known for drama and scale. The band draws from a hillside neighbourhood that has produced generations of players. Their Panorama performances are the recordings that matter, since pan lives in competition rather than in the studio.
