Deolinda

Über Deolinda

Lisbon quartet — Ana Bacalhau, Pedro da Silva Martins, Luís José Martins, José Pedro Leitão — who reinvented Portuguese song in the 2000s by fusing fado, folk and sharply political wit. 'Parva que Sou' (2011) became the accidental anthem of austerity-era protest, sung at crisis rallies and broadcast beyond the band's usual audience. Their work made the connection between fado lineage and civic commentary audible to a new generation.
