Calypsonian who was pelted with toilet paper at her first tent appearances, because a light-skinned woman singing calypso was not what audiences expected, and who went on to win the Calypso Monarch title in 2001. Nah Leaving was her answer to anyone who thought she would give up. She won Calypso Queen four times and later moved into gospel. Her death in 2023 was treated in Trinidad as the loss of a national figure.
