Über Csík Zenekar

Csík Zenekar are the second generation of the táncház movement, formed in Kecskemét in 1988 around violinist János Csík. Where Muzsikás opened the path internationally, Csík turned folk arrangements of contemporary Hungarian rock and pop songs into a popular phenomenon at home, filling halls with audiences who came as much for the Quimby and Kispál covers as for the village melodies underneath. Their reading of Quimby's "Most múlik pontosan" became one of the most-streamed Hungarian folk tracks of the 2010s.
