The APO Hiking Society were the wittiest and most beloved of the OPM founders, a vocal trio of Jim Paredes, Boboy Garovillo, and Danny Javier who wrote the Filipino songbook of a generation. Blending folk-pop warmth with humor and social observation, they gave the country enduring standards like Panalangin and Batang-Bata Ka Pa. As champions of Original Pilipino Music, they helped make homegrown songwriting a point of national pride.
