Andrej Šifrer was a founding kantavtor in the same 1970s generation as Tomaž Pengov, with a lighter touch and a sharper ear for radio. He moved comfortably between folk-rock, country, and pop ballad, wrote some of the catchiest Slovene choruses of the 80s and 90s, and kept performing through every musical fashion since. His catalogue is the bedrock the rest of Slovenian singer-songwriter pop is built on.
