About Vassilis Tsitsanis
Greece's most prolific rebetiko composer, Tsitsanis wrote over 500 songs and bridged the gap between rebetiko and modern laiko music. His masterpiece 'Synnefiasmeni Kyriaki' was composed during the German occupation and remains one of the most beloved Greek songs of all time. He modernized the bouzouki's role in Greek popular music.
