The Cure

About The Cure

Robert Smith's band has been running continuously since 1978, moving between bleak post-punk (Faith, Pornography) and luminous pop (Friday I'm in Love, Just Like Heaven) often within the same album. Disintegration (1989) is one of the era's defining records. The band's distinctive iconography of hair, makeup, and red lipstick has been as influential as the music itself.
