À propos de Sodsai Rungphothong
Sodsai Rungphothong was one of the most-recorded female luk thung singers of the 1960s and 1970s and a contemporary of Suraphol Sombatcharoen. Born in Ang Thong, she signed to Suraphol's record label in her teens and became a fixture on Bangkok radio with a soft-edged delivery that softened the masculine swagger of golden-age luk thung. Rak Thae Phae Ngern, her best-known recording, remains a karaoke standard six decades on. She continued performing into the 1990s on luk thung revival tours and is widely cited by younger female stars including Pumpuang Duangjan as a foundational influence.
