Roxette

About Roxette

Roxette were the pop-rock duo of Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle, and one of Sweden's biggest global exports after ABBA. Through the late 1980s and early 1990s they scored a run of worldwide number ones, including The Look and It Must Have Been Love, the latter carried by the film Pretty Woman. Gessle's hooks and Fredriksson's powerhouse voice gave them a sound built for stadiums and radio alike. Fredriksson's death in 2019, after years of illness, closed one of pop's great partnerships.
