About Pape Diouf

One of the most popular Senegalese singers of the 2010s and 2020s, Pape Diouf rose through Coumba Gawlo Seck's band before founding La Génération Consciente in 2002 and becoming a fixture on Senegalese television. His tightly produced mbalax with reggae and R&B colour gave him a dominant run on the country's club circuit through the late 2000s and 2010s. He continues to record and tour, with releases consistently topping streaming charts in Dakar.
