Novi fosili were Zagreb's sunniest pop export, a vocal group whose close harmonies and radio-perfect hooks ruled Yugoslav charts through the 1970s and 1980s. With singer Sanja Doležal fronting, they took Ja sam za ples to fourth place at Eurovision 1987, the peak of the country's schlager-pop era. Their singles remain staples of every Croatian oldies playlist.
