Mr Eazi pioneered a laid-back, melodic fusion of Ghanaian highlife and Nigerian chord progressions he calls Banku music. Hits like Leg Over made him a continental star, and as an entrepreneur he built emPawa Africa to fund a new generation of artists. His relaxed, understated style became one of the defining textures of late-2010s afrobeats.
