Moni Bilé pushed makossa into its synthesiser era. O si tapa lambo lam, released in 1982, paired the genre's bass-led momentum with keyboards and a lighter production touch, and it became one of the defining Cameroonian records of the decade. He is credited with widening makossa's reach into francophone Africa and the Antilles. He has continued recording and performing since.
