About Ketama

Ketama were pioneers of nuevo flamenco, formed in Madrid by members of the Carmona and Losada flamenco families. They fused traditional cante and rumba with pop, jazz, and Latin grooves, opening flamenco to a young mainstream audience. Their collaborations, including the acclaimed Songhai project with Malian and British musicians, showcased flamenco's global reach. Hits like No Estamos Lokos made them household names in 1990s Spain.
