Wuthering Heights (1978) made her the first woman to reach number one on the UK charts with a self-written song. Hounds of Love (1985) and the second-side suite The Ninth Wave established her as one of British pop's most singular composer-producers. Her catalogue's 2022 revival, driven by Stranger Things' use of Running Up That Hill, sent the 1985 track back to number one across three continents.
