Hirut Bekele has been one of the most cherished female voices in Ethiopian music for decades, with a vast repertoire spanning traditional, modern, and religious song. She recorded more than 200 songs and performed with the legendary Roha and Ibex bands, sharing stages with golden-age greats like Mahmoud Ahmed and Alemayehu Eshete. Her warm, expressive delivery made her a mainstay of Addis Ababa's recording scene through the golden age and beyond.
