About Dimensión Latina

Dimensión Latina was the band that put Venezuelan salsa on the map. Founded in Caracas in 1972 by trombonist César Monge and others, they forged a hard, trombone-driven sound and launched the career of a young singing bassist named Óscar D'León. Their 1975 hit Llorarás became a continental salsa anthem, and the group remained a powerhouse of the barrio dance scene through the golden age of the genre.
