About Carsick Cars

Beijing trio that became the flagship band of the Maybe Mars label and the D-22 livehouse scene in the late 2000s. Their 2007 self-titled debut, with the noise-pop anthem Zhong Nan Hai, was the first Chinese underground record to draw international press, and they toured Europe with Sonic Youth the same year. Carsick Cars carried on through lineup changes and the closure of D-22, releasing 3 in 2014 and You Can Listen, You Can Talk in 2018, and remain a touchstone for the Beijing indie wave.
