Senegalese-American singer and producer who grew up between Dakar and New Jersey and broke through in 2004 with the autobiographical Locked Up. Across the late 2000s he became one of the most-charting voices in global pop, with hits including Smack That, Don't Matter, and the David Guetta collaboration Sexy Bitch. Through his label Konvict Music he discovered Lady Gaga and T-Pain, and he has used his fame to back energy and infrastructure projects across West Africa.
