About Akofa Akoussah

Akofa Akoussah recorded one self-titled album for Sonafric in 1976 and it has outlived most of what was released around it. She sang in Ewé and French over arrangements that sit between West African guitar pop, soul and jazz, with her own piano underneath. The record circulated quietly for decades before Mr Bongo reissued it and collectors caught up. It remains the most sought-after Togolese LP of its era.
