About Afia Mala

Afia Mala has been one of Togo's most consistently present voices since the early 1980s, singing in Ewé over arrangements that draw on agbadja rhythms and Congolese guitar. Ten Homte established her nationally and she has kept recording and touring across four decades since. She works between Lomé and the diaspora and remains a fixture of Togolese television. Her later videos show the same approach with contemporary production behind it.
