Zaiko Langa Langa
À propos de Zaiko Langa Langa
Kinshasa orchestra founded in 1969 by a generation of students — including Papa Wemba, Nyoka Longo and Evoloko Jocker — who reinvented Congolese popular music by stripping back the horn sections and orchestral conventions of rumba and building around electric guitars, tight vocal harmonies and new dance styles. Zaïko's cascading line of dance crazes from 'Cavacha' in the 1970s to 'Zekete Zekete' (1983) generated the vocabulary that the entire soukous and ndombolo wave would later inherit.
