Brisbane punk band whose first single (I'm) Stranded was recorded in June 1976, months before the Sex Pistols released theirs. The Saints are routinely cited (by Bob Geldof, Sonic Youth, R.E.M., Henry Rollins) as one of the first true punk bands and a foundational influence on independent rock. Chris Bailey continued leading the band in various lineups until his death in 2022.
