The Kinks

À propos de The Kinks

Ray Davies' band invented the proto-punk guitar riff with You Really Got Me in 1964, then spent the rest of the decade writing some of the most precise English songwriting about class, suburban life, and the texture of London. Waterloo Sunset (1967) is one of the most quietly perfect pop songs ever recorded. Their influence on Britpop and the entire English songwriter tradition is direct and acknowledged.
