SMAP

À propos de SMAP

SMAP debuted in 1991 under the Johnny & Associates idol agency and within a decade had reinvented the Japanese boy band: five members, six television shows a week, and a string of acting and presenting credits that made them de facto national mascots. Their 2003 single Sekai ni Hitotsu Dake no Hana sold more than 3 million copies and remains one of the best-selling Japanese singles of all time. The group disbanded acrimoniously in December 2016, but their influence on Arashi and every subsequent Johnny's act is the foundation of modern Japanese idol culture.
