Natanael Cano, from Hermosillo in Sonora, invented corridos tumbados as a teenager. His 2019 album of the same name layered acoustic requinto and bajo quinto over trap drums and gave the Mexican corrido a new template for a streaming generation. Pacas de Billetes, Soy el Diablo, and the 2020 single AMG were the early proofs of concept; his label Rancho Humilde, alongside Bad Bunny's collaborations, exported the sound. He has since released more than ten albums and remains the genre's most prolific founder.
