Los Gatos' 1967 single La Balsa, written by Litto Nebbia and Tanguito, is considered the founding recording of Argentine rock — the first rock song in Spanish to achieve massive commercial success. The song sold over 250,000 copies and proved that rock could be sung in Spanish.
