À propos de La Lupe

La Lupe sang the bolero like someone tearing the door off its hinges. She started in Havana nightclubs in the late 1950s, left for New York in 1962, and became the wildest voice of the early salsa era through her work with Mongo Santamaria and Tito Puente. Her version of Puro Teatro, later used by Pedro Almodovar, remains a touchstone of Latin emotional excess.
