Koes Plus
À propos de Koes Plus
Formed in 1969 as a continuation of Koes Bersaudara, the family group that had been jailed under Sukarno for playing Beatles songs, Koes Plus became the most prolific and most loved Indonesian band of the 1970s. Their three-chord pop turned the country's pop tradition outward toward Western rock while keeping Indonesian-language lyricism at its centre. The Nusantara series, a multi-volume hymn to the archipelago, remains their best-known work.
