Gal Costa was one of the great voices of Brazilian music and a founding figure of the Tropicália movement alongside Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil. Her soaring, sensual voice defined the sound of the late 1960s avant-garde before she became a beloved MPB star for decades. Songs like Baby and Festa do Interior made her a national treasure until her death in 2022.
