À propos de Fatoumata Diawara

Singer and guitarist who left an arranged marriage in Mali for theatre and music in Paris, then returned to wassoulou as her musical foundation. Her 2011 debut Fatou and the 2018 follow-up Fenfo (Something to Say) drew on Oumou Sangaré's lineage while opening it to jazz and rock. She organised the 2013 collective single Mali-ko in response to the northern Mali jihadist crisis, and has collaborated with Roberto Fonseca, Damon Albarn, and Hozier.
